I can write and learn how to surf........at the same time!

My Mom is going to call me tomorrow and give me the mailing address of my cousin Dave in Florida. Dave is the editor of a magazine, though I am not sure what magazine. All I know is that it is some kind of trade magazine.

The past few weeks I have been working on writing two short stories. One I finished which I have been sending to a few people to read for me and tell me what they think. I like to think of it as a mix between reviews and critiques. So far though I have not gotten great reviews or critiques on my first story, I guess just average. Though I am really dissapointed by that, I know I need to start somewhere. I need to start somewhere if I want to get anywhere.

My second story I have still yet to finish. I need to sit down one day this weekend and work on it, and I think I will. Just get my labtop all juiced up to 100% power and bring it with me to the Beehive. Get a tall glass of iced coffee, get a good table, have a good CD in my Discman and I will be able to finish it. And when I do I am going to send it around again to more people who are willing to read it and give me their opinion. I know I am going to be proud of it, but will other people like it?

I need to send both stories to my cousin though and see what he thinks. I hope he sends me back a letter in the mail that says I should move down to Florida with him and his wife, they have an extra room in the garage. I am going to have to be in close contact with him because he wants to be my agent. He can get me "hooked up" with all the publishing companies. He just wants a 5% cut of the royalties.

And then I woke up.

I don't even have his address yet. But I like the sound of that, living in Florida, writing. I can even learn how to surf. I just need my Mom to call me back first.
